Danish Kaneria, the Pakistani cricketer was seen visiting a Swaminarayan Temple in Karachi’s Mohammed Ali Jinnah Road. The Swamnarayan temple completed 150 years in the year 2004 and is located in a Hindu locality in Karachi. It is said that not just Hindus, but Muslims also visit this temple in Karachi.

Kaneria shared a video on his Twitter account that shows his entire visit at the temple with his wife. The video looks like a vlog made by his wife, in which she is explaining the history and culture surrounding the temple. Here’s a look at the vlog:

Danish Kaneria played Test match cricket for Pakistan for ten years. He was one of the important and wicket-taking option for Pakistan for many years. He enjoyed great success against India as well. He has picked 43 Indian wickets in 11 Test matches he played against India. The leg-spinner has 15 five-wicket hauls and two 10-wicket hauls in Test cricket.

He has been active on social media and also speaks about his social life in Pakistan.

In the video, his wife Dharmeta Kaneria says that the priest of the Swaminarayan temple says that the temple is almost 200 years old. She continues by saying that they ‘enjoy all festivals in the temple premises’. They ‘celebrate Holi, Janmashtami, Ganesh Chaturthi and Navratri with the same enthusiasm and thousands take part in it.’ She makes cultural videos for her YouTube channel ‘Explore Culture with Dharmeta Kaneria’.

The temple premises have an ashram for people to stay. This temple was also visited by Mohammed Ali Jinnah and the temple walls have carvings in Gujarati as a group of sadhus from Ahmedabad visited the temple in 1989.

Kaneria is currently living in Karachi, Pakistan.
