New Delhi: On Wednesday when the U.S. Capitol was under attack by the pro-Trump mob, many world leaders and business leaders expressed their disappointment and shock over what was going on. But two of the wealthiest businessmen – Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos had a completely different approach.

While Jeff Bezos expressed no opinion whatsoever Elon Musk was posting memes about the situation. He went ahead posted a meme that suggested how Facebook was responsible for the attack.

Musk is known for his frequent Twitter posts, also tweeted that people should use the encrypted messaged app Signal since WhatsApp, the now Facebook owned app announced that it will be sharing their personal data with Facebook.

Bezos, who isn’t consistent with social media activity has spoken about Black Lives Matter before and has received a lot of backlash for it following which he would post rebuttals.

Facebook and Instagram blocked US President Donald Trump’s accounts for 24 hours. Mark Zuckerberg posted a lengthy statement on his profile announcing that Facebook and Instagram have blocked Trump.

“His decision to use his platform to condone rather than condemn the actions of his supporters at the Capitol building has rightly disturbed people in the US and around the world. We removed these statements yesterday because we judged that their effect — and likely their intent — would be to provoke further violence,” explained Zuckerberg.

Similarly, Twitter too took a stand and blocked Trump out of his account, even though Jack Dorsey himself hasn’t spoken about the Capitol attack. He has retweet Musk’s tweet about using Signal and journalist Glenn Greenwald, who posted a video of Democrat Congresswoman Barbara Lee’s speech on the House floor shortly after the 9/11 attacks.

On Wednesday, interrupting the process of affirming Joe Biden’s presidential election victory, angry protesters and supporters of President Donald Trump stormed the US Capitol on Wednesday, resulting in a clash with the police.  The clash led to some casualty and multiple injuries. Incited by President Trumps speech outside the White House Grounds, the protesters outside turned into a mob and entered the Capitol Building. US Capitol Police which were outnumber by the protesters failed to push them back with tear gas and rubber bullets but more police personnel was deployed bringing the situation under control.
