Virat Kohli and Washington Sundar  were out at the crease in the morning session as Pujara, Gill, Rahane and Pant miss out in the fourth innings. Although India lost Pujara early, Shubhman Gill did not stop playing his shots. The plan looked clear, that Gill will attack from one end while Kohli will look to steady the innings from the other end.

India’s score was 92/2 in the 27th over. Jimmy Anderson picked up the ball. Before the match, he was seen involved in long conversations with Jofra Archer and Captain Root. In a pre-match interview, Anderson said that he will look to reverse the ball and look to exploit the patches which were present on the pitch. The bowler hoped to get some purchase off the wicket and he did not fail his captain and the English fans. Anderson picked two important wickets of Gill and Rahane in the same over. After the 27th over, India looked vulnerable at 92/4, all thanks to the beautiful swing bowling by Anderson. Later in the 33rd over, Anderson picked Pant in a soft dismissal. The score when updated at 10:56 am IST was 110/5.

After this early burst of wickets Indian fans on Twitter look worried:

Now it’s up to Kohli and Sundar to save the Test match for India. The onus will be on both these boys to steer India’s way to the end of Day’s play today. Is Ravi Shastri still thinking of a win or have the three quick wickets changed any game-plan in the dressing room. On a positive side, captain Kohli is at the crease and he can maneuver the pace of the match.
