The high octane and much anticipated Test series for the Border Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia will get underway with the 1st Test to be played at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide from December 17.
The opening encounter of the Test series at Adelaide Oval will be a historic match for the Indian team as the game will be sub continent team’s first away Pink Ball Test encounter.
Both the teams will engage in an intense battle in red ball cricket after sharing the honours in the white ball leg of the all-format tour.While Australia beat India 2-1 in the ODI series, the ‘Men In Blue’ returned the favour to the ‘Kangaroos’ handing them a 2-1 defeat in the T20I series.
The powerhouses of Test cricket will lock horns in a 4-match Test series which is scheduled to be played out between Dec 17 to January 19.
While the visiting Indian team will look to pull off a second successive Test series win over the Aussies on their hometurf, Australia would look to lay their hands back on the Border Gavaskar Trophy with a win on their home soil.

With Indian skipper Virat Kohli set to lead the team in the first Test before flying back to be with his wife Anushka, Australia will be captained by their seasoned Test skipper Tim Paine.
The pink-ball Test match between India and Australia will take place from December 17 to December 21 in Adelaide. The Day-Night encounter for the day’s session will be 9:30 AM IST.
